Cantopop (a contraction of "Cantonese pop music") or HK-pop (short for "Hong Kong pop music") is a genre of pop music written in standard Chinese and sung in Cantonese. Cantopop is also used to refer to the cultural context of its production and consumption.

粵語流行曲並無一個確實起源，都係由好多人一路喺唔同方向試吓試吓咁演變出嚟，多數認為係五十年代開始。最初廣東歌根本就無人聽，所以唔講得上流行，後來喺電影電視都會用廣東歌做主題曲，一路到七、八十年代開始成熟，而且成為音樂市場主流，但係踏入21世紀廣東歌慢慢式微，聽廣東歌嘅人越嚟越少。
